Chris Hertenstein, M.Div, MSW, LCSW, D. Min. Candidate
Chris possesses extensive training in the fields of individual psychotherapy and marriage and family therapy. Experienced in the treatment of anxiety and depression, he has provided counseling services for both men and women for over twenty years, helping them overcome these sometimes debilitating issues. Chris has further assisted families with marriage counseling, adjustment and life transition issues, including counseling blended families and the bereaved. A licensed clinical social worker, Chris is an active member of the National Association of Social Workers and maintains a Qualified Social Work credential. Chris is also an ordained minister with the American Baptist Churches USA and has specialized training in neuro-linguistic programming and is exercised in pastoral and spiritual counseling.
Graduating with a Master of Clinical Social Work from Norfolk State University, (1989), Chris also holds a Master of Divinity from Palmer Theological Seminary, (1984) and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rowan University (1979). Chris further received post graduate training in the field of clinical psychology from The Southern California University of Professional Studies. He is currently a Doctor of Ministry candidate at Knox Seminary.
Betsy Hertenstein, MS
Marriage and Family Therapy State of Florida Registered Intern
Betsy holds a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (2008) from Stetson University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications (1982) from Rowan University. Helping individuals and families, she specializes in marriage counseling, women's issues, developing healthy patterns of communication, overcoming anxiety and depression in women, and adolescent and family concerns. In a safe and sensitive atmosphere, Betsy counsels couples to help them overcome the pain and bitterness they may be experiencing in their relationship due to past hurts, erosion of trust, and blended family issues. In addition to working with couples, Betsy also works with men and women experiencing anxiety and depression through a strength based approach that underscores personal empowerment and self-directed goals.
Betsy also has over ten years experience teaching middle school, giving her a unique perspective of adolescents and their families. Familiar with many of the academic and social challenges facing today's teen, Betsy works with families to help them navigate through these sometimes problematic areas.
